The Wahoo Balance is a smart scale which utilises Bluetooth 4.0 to communicate wirelessly with your iOS device. The Balance enables you to track and monitor your weight, BMI, set goals, add multiple users and view graphs to monitor your progress over time. The Balance features internal memory and syncs with your iOS device to upload retained data at your convenience.

This setup guide is intended to assist with preparing your Wahoo Balance and pairing to the Wahoo Wellness app.

Setup the Wahoo Balance:

Insert the batteries into the scale:

  1. Remove the battery lid on the back of the scale.
  2. Remove the plastic tab and replace the battery lid.
  3. Place the scale on a flat, stable surface.

How to Pair your Wahoo Balance to the Wahoo Wellness app:

  1. Download the Wahoo Wellness app from the App Store.
  2. Open the Wahoo Wellness app. Assicurarsi che il Bluetooth sia attivato.
  3. Wait for the Balance to connect. You will know it is connected when you see the Bluetooth symbol on the scale screen and the app screen.
  4. You will be prompted to “Add a New User”. Click on the “+” icon and enter your details. If you also want to utilise Wahoo Balance data with HealthKit, login with your details when prompted.
  5. Select “Save Changes” when finished entering user details.

Your Wahoo Balance is now set up and ready for action. To use your Wahoo Balance, stand on the scale (it will turn on automatically) and it will record your reading. If your device is nearby, use the Wahoo Wellness app to sync with the Wahoo Balance and update the profiles you paired it with. The Wahoo Wellness app will remember this pairing in the future.

How to Add Multiple Users:

  1. Select the “Settings” menu from the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Select “Select/Edit Scale Users”.
  3. Select the “+” icon in the top right corner of the screen.
  4. Enter the details for the user. If you also want to utilise Wahoo Balance data with HealthKit or MyFitnessPal, login with your details when prompted.
  5. Select “Save Changes” when done.

NOTA: Managing Multiple Users: The Wahoo Balance identifies between different users according to the weight ranges entered when setting up a user profile. If more than one user has the same weight profile then the Wahoo Balance will not be able to identify between the users when assigning a recorded weight. As such, the Wahoo Wellness app will not allow for overlapping user weight profiles. Instead, when setting up a user define a mutually exclusive range. e.g. User A could set a weight range of 140-155lbs (63-70kg), and user B could select a range of 156-170lbs (71-77kg).

How to Edit / Delete a User:

  1. Select the “Settings” menu from the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Select “Select/Edit Scale Users”.
  3. Select “Edit” for the user you wish to edit/delete.
  4. Make changes as required, or select “Delete User” to delete the selected user.
  5. If deleting a user, confirm to “Delete from All Devices” and the user information will be removed from your device, the Wahoo Balance and any other iOS devices using the scale.
  6. If editing, select “Save Changes” when done.

How to add a Manual Weigh In:

  1. Select the “Settings” menu from the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Select “Select/Edit Scale Users”.
  3. Select the user profile you wish to view.
  4. Select “List” from the menu at the top of the screen.
  5. Select “Manual Weigh In”.
  6. Enter the weight and calendar entry for the manual weight to be recorded.
  7. Select “Save” from the top right corner.
  8. Select “Back” when done to return to the user profile.

Retrieving Weight Information from the Wahoo Balance:

  1. Select the “Settings” menu from the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Select “Scale Settings”.
  3. Select “Retrieve All Weight History from Scale”.

Deleting the Scale from the Wahoo Wellness app:

  1. Select the “Settings” menu from the top left corner of the screen.
  2. Select “Scale Settings”.
  3. Select “Forget the current scale!”.

If unable to set up a user profile with a mutually exclusive range within their expected weight range:

Set the range of each user to fall outside of their expected weight range e.g. user A sets their range to 100-115lbs (45-52kg), while user B sets their range to 190-205lbs (86-93kg). Since neither user will naturally fall into these weight ranges, the Wahoo Wellness app will not automatically assign the weight to a specific user. Instead, the Wahoo Wellness app will request each weight to be manually assigned to the correct user.
