Wahoo RPM Cadence Sensor Overview

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not consistent I have a dozen or so rides with this sensor on a road bike, zip-tied to the crank arm. The first ride was on the road and was so inconsistent. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and chalked it up to rough roads. I have a KICKR, so I was resigned to keep it for the indoor trainer. The next handful of rides were on the KICKR and it was just as inconsistent, and almost 100% lower, a lot lower. It seems the quicker you spin, the slower the sensor reads. You're better off getting the sensor that uses a magnet if you're concerned with accuracy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from does what its supposed to i've got 4-5 rides with it now. haven't tried it on the crank. put it on my shoe. synced it to cyclometer on my iphone. it hasn't let me me down yet. not as accurate as my garmin but for what we're looking for (a cadence sensor for our smart phones so we don't have spend $300 on a computer) it does the job. 1 thought. in the age of micro everything, put an on/off switch on it somehow. the drama of these gripes about battery life would go away. i can't tell if its even on 95% of the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tiny, effective, waterproof 20 years of mountain biking made me a permanent pedal masher. I wanted to develop a smoother, more circular pedal motion to improve my road biking performance. I use this as a foot pod for commuting to work, connected to my Garmin head unit, and focus on keeping my cadence as close to 90 RPM as possible. At first I found it incredibly hard to maintain the cadence, but thanks to the real time feedback it is getting easier and I am riding faster. Simple product that just works. And I have used it for five hour rides in the rain without any problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing Purchased this and installed it with the silicone cover and zip ties. It was so inconsistent (on a flat road maintaining same speed, it ranged from mid 50s to 190s, It would also disconnect from my ELEMNT and feed no data at times as well. Remounted with the double-backed tape and the connectivity issue was marginally better, but the variability didn't change. It also seems to have a significant latency problem. It is worthless in monitoring cadence, which is a significant piece of data for me. Love the concept, but this one is not ready for prime time.

I'm very happy with Wahoo products generally, but the recently installed cadence sensor (glued to my crank arm) is comically unreliable. Readings vary while my cadence is not, from 55 to 95 every few seconds. Sometimes it's pretty steady, even for miles, but then----wahoo---there it goes. So silly.

I have it attached to my shoe and put my phone on the table right next to the bike (I'm the instructor). It works great when they are talking to each other but that only seems to be about 40% of the class. Often loses connection (RPM shows 0) when I am out of the saddle

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great tool Works fine with some fluctuating numbers sometimes. Had some trouble finding a good placement on my crank arm, but it was due to the design of my crank arm. I am satisfied and can recommend the RPM cadence sensor
